My Blog Is No Longer Listed Because You Hate Me
Just to clarify, we here at Blogtimore, Hon are not responsible for the validity of your blog’s feed. If there is something wrong with it that causes problems with the look or layout of our page at any time, such as your forgetting to close a tag on a script that makes all headlines listed below yours to disappear from the main page, we will simply delete your feed without warning to you or anyone else to immediately rectify the problem. We will most likely not inform you that your feed was deleted and/or there was a problem with it because:
a) We are not your feed’s validity monitor (can’t say that enough).
b) Once we receive your original request to add your blog to our list we add it and test it. If it doesn’t work properly we will work with you until it either does or doesn’t appear on our list in a working manner. When it is determined your feed is working properly as part of our site (or if we cannot make it work), we do not keep tabs on your e-mail address or any contact information. We say we won’t use e-mail addresses for anything and we mean it.
If you notice your feed is missing you are welcome to resubmit it and we will add it back to the list and make sure it is working properly. At that point if there is still a problem we will let you know, but 10 times out of 10 it won’t happen before then. Because, if I forgot to mention it previously, it is not our job here at Blogtimore, Hon to ensure your blog’s headlines are always on display on our site.
E-mailing us to let us know that we’re “screwing up” or to otherwise antagonize us regarding why your feed was there but now it’s not will most likely not get you a satisfying resolution, as several people have discovered over the last couple of weeks (must be the change from summer to autumn mode or an inordinate number of full moons lately or something).
We hate sounding like a jerk (even if does come really easy for us) and we truly appreciate every blog that has chosen to be listed with us, but please keep in mind that Blogtimore, Hon is a hobby and not a revenue generating business enterprise. And not all of us here have a terribly deft touch when it comes to customer service either. But, you know, you get what you pay for…
